Hellion Mustang GT vs. McLaren MP4-12C – Street Hits

April 14th, 2022

Tonight, we have a throwdown between a heavily modified 2020 Ford Mustang GT and a gently modified 2012 McLaren MP4-12C. On the agenda are a pair of roll races on the street (in Mexico). The first contest will initiate at 50 mph and the second will initiate at 60 mph. Varying the starting speed should allow each competitor an equal opportunity to show their machine in the best light.

The Mustang is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine capable of producing 460hp at the crankshaft. The 2020 version of the Mustang GT is a front-engine rear-wheel drive coupe that weighs approximately 3,800-pounds. The car featured in this video has been upgraded for performance purposes. Modifications include a Hellion 6266 twin turbocharger kit, performance tuning and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Maximum output is estimated to be 650+ hp.

In the other lane, the 2012 McLaren MP4-12C is a rear-engine all-wheel drive supercar equipped with a twin turbo 3.8-liter V8 from the factory. The MP4-12C weighs only 3,100-pounds in stock trim. This particular McLaren has been modified with a set of performance exhaust downpipes and an E85 tune. It’s also wearing Michelin Pilot Sport skins.

Let’s get this show in the road!
