Godzilla vs. Prancing Horse – Bone Stock Drag Race

October 15th, 2024

In an epic battle that pits Japan against Italy, we have an all-wheel drive turbocharged Nissan GT-R taking on a rear-wheel drive naturally aspirated Ferrari 812 Superfast in a standing drag race. This one is gonna unfold in a hurry.

In the right lane is the Italian. It’s a Ferrari 812 Superfast. The rear-wheel drive Ferrari is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V8 engine that can churn out 789hp and 530 lb.-ft. of torque at peak RPM. Tipping the scale at a portly 4,000-pounds, the 812 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 10.8-seconds with a top speed of 211 mph. With only rear-wheel drive, the speedy Italian will likely be playing catch-up to the Nissan.

Speaking of the Nissan – the all-wheel drive GT-R is the flagship of the Nissan lineup. It comes with a twin turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine capable of producing 600hp and 481 lb.-ft. of torque. The GT-R can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0-seconds and eclipse the 1320 in 11.2-seconds. Top speed is 160 mph, and the Nissan weighs 3,850-pounds. The Nissan should come out of the hole ahead of the Ferrari due to superior traction. After that, it will be a struggle to maintain the advantage.

It’s time to put these stallions head-to-head and let the acceleration commence.
