McLaren 675LT 1Wrap your head around the 2016 McLaren 675LT, a more powerful and lighter long-tail version of the popular McLaren 650S. The 675LT was introduced last week during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The 675LT features reduced weight, more horsepower, and a 40-percent increase in downforce. A new swirling front fascia and exhaust outlet equipped rear splitter with carbon fiber elements lend themselves to greater downforce, improved aerodynamics, and the lightweight approach.

The extra power comes from a redesigned version of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 that produces 666 HP and 700 lb.-ft. of torque. New lightweight connecting rods, improved turbochargers, higher duration and lift camshafts, as well as a new oil, fuel, water pump, new charge coolers, and a titanium crossover exhaust system yield an increase of 25 HP over the 650S. McLaren track telemetry and a set of model specific alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber add to the laundry list of performance items found on-board this $345,000 supercar. An unprecedented power-to-weight ratio and lower center of gravity help propel the 675LT through the 1/4-mile in 10.7-seconds @ 134 mph. It has an electronically allocated top speed of 205 mph.
