Fox Body Grudge Race – Beater Bomb vs. Torch 2.0

January 11th, 2018

This video treats us to a look at a bad little Fox Body Mustang that is known as the Torch 2.o. Although exact equipment specifications are kept close to the vest, it has been determined that the nitrous burning engine in this Mustang is a small block LS (Chevy) based V8. How about them apples?

Footage from several dragstrips and multiple events (Small Tire Class) portrays the Torch 2.0 reeking havoc on the competition.

The first stop is at the Ice Cream Cruise and the first victim is a classic Ford Falcon. After a small catfish out of the hole, the Torch gets to the stripe ahead of the Falcon. Next up is a turbocharged ‘69 Camaro. Again, the Torch gets beaten out of the hole but drives around the Camaro and on to victory.

In the semifinal round, a Nissan GT-R gets annihilated by the Torch. The grudge race comes in the final round with the Torch lining up against Beater Bomb. Unfortunately, a serious fuel leak puts Beater Bomb back on the trailer before he has a chance to run. Nobody likes to win like that.

From there it’s on to the Shop Inc’s NO PREP Heads Up Racing Series from the I-29 Dragway in Pacific Junction, Iowa (of all places). From the jump a nitrous Camaro gets torched by the Torch.

There’s lots more drag racing action on this one. Have a gander for yourself.
