Four-Way V12 Supercar Showdown – Open Exhaust Drag Race

March 5th, 2025

It’s being billed as the loudest drag race in the history of the United Kingdom. On the agenda is a series of quarter-mile drags between four high-powered supercars with Gintani (open) exhaust – that means no mufflers and no cats! You will not believe the machinery on hand for this supercar showdown.

Massively underpowered in this field, the rear engine, rear-wheel drive Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a naturally aspirated all-aluminum 4.0-liter V6 engine that can make 502hp. At a curb weight of 3,200-pounds, the GT3 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3-seconds with a quarter-mile of 10.9-seconds @ 124 mph.

One of three Italian entries in this supercar showdown, the Ferrari 812 Superfast is a front engine, rear-wheel drive roadster with an all-aluminum 6.5-liter V12 engine under the hood. This sultry machine can produce 789hp at peak RPM. The Ferrari weighs-in at 4,000-pounds and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8-seconds. The quarter-mile? How about 10.5-seconds @ 131 mph?

As the most powerful car in the field, the mid-engine, all-wheel drive Lamborghini Revuelto features a 6.5-liter V12 engine combined with a trio of electric motors to generate 1,001hp. Despite a curb weight of 4,290-pounds, the Revuelto can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.2-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 9.7-seconds @ 148 mph.

Representing the old school supercar crowd, the rear engine, all-wheel drive Lamborghini Aventador SV is equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 motor that can produce 740hp. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7-seconds seems like child’s play for the 3,868-pound Aventador which can also blow through the quarter-mile in 10.5-seconds @ 136 mph.

Time to line these beauties up and split some ear drums.
