Fastest Dodge Charger in the World

March 4th, 2022

Permit me to introduce what is being billed as the World’s Fastest Dodge Charger. I must begin by saying that is not a Hellcat. Instead, we have a larger engine with an aftermarket blower and it’s making plenty of horsepower. Have a look.

This is no widebody. It’s a base model Charger. The engine is a billet 7.0-liter (426 cid) HEMI with a Drag Pack blower (custom built and ported by Dustin Whipple). There is also a kit of nitrous (not in use today). The transmission is a TH400 automatic by Proformance. The rear end is also a billet unit. The fuel injection is Holley and the exhaust headers are from American Racing. Maximum output (under the current settings) is 1,400hp.

The Charger draws a run against a Tesla Plaid in the first race. The Tesla is typically good for consistent 9-second passes due to its all-wheel drive platform and electric propulsion system. The Dodge is a rear-wheel drive car that makes more power but can potentially be less consistent. They’re staging now. Both cars come out of the hole straight and fast. The Mopar just digs a bit deeper than the Tesla, posting a quarter-mile time of 8.129-seconds @ 171.47 mph and racking up a win.

Our Charger gets paired up with a modified Challenger Hellcat for the second race. The Hellcat is fast, but our guy spanks him with an 8.165 @ 171.21 mph. Not bad on blower only.

Tons more drag racing here.
