Europe’s Fastest Audi RS3 vs. Porsche 911 Turbo S – Drag Race

October 15th, 2020

Greetings drag racing fans and welcome to this battle between two German powerhouses. While these two cars are both manufactured in the same country, there are very obvious differences in their makeup. Let’s begin with forced air induction – both of them have turbos. Oh, both of them are also equipped with an all-wheel drivetrain. That’s where the similarities end. The Audi is a front engine vehicle with a turbo 5-cylinder engine. The Porsche is rear engine vehicle with an air-cooled twin turbo 6-cylinder engine.

The turbocharged Audi RS3 is powered by a 2.5-liter engine. It has been modified with lots of aftermarket goodies, including a high-performance exhaust system. It is APR tuned and turns the quarter-mile in 9.62-seconds. In its current state, the speedy sedan can produce 716hp and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.33-seconds. Pretty darn quick!

On the other hand, the Porsche 911 Turbo S is bone stock. It comes equipped with a twin turbocharged 3.7-liter motor. The Porsche 911 Turbo S makes 640hp and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.37-seconds. Now, let’s have a drag race.

After a fair amount of posturing and smack talk, these two cars line up on the closed course. Are we about to see the slaying of the mighty Porsche?
