Epic Small Tire Cash Days in the Big Easy

January 10th, 2023

Every authentic gearhead knows that NOLA is bringing a strong street game. With that thought in mind, the Street Racing Channel (SRC) crew fled the snowy confines of Ohio for the warmer climate of the Big Easy. There, the most epic Street/Small Tire Cash Days ever was about to take place nine feet below sea level. Buckle-up!

Despite clearing skies, the first evening session of Street Car racing was postponed when a thick fog moved in on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. The cool, moist air left a thin film of slippery precipitation on everything. Especially the road.

Early the following afternoon, the Street Cars got their chance at drag racing glory. Contestants included the Old Man in his nitrous G-Body. As the paternal head of the SRC crew, the Old Man not only drives his own car but he also provides old school technical insight for his two sons (Billy TH3 KID and Tommy Gun) each of whom campaign Small Tire vehicles. With Billy’s S10 Pickup in a state of disrepair, and Tommy recovering from a knee surgery, Billy will be driving the LS Turbo Ford Falcon in Small Tire. The Small Tire Class (sixteen cars) is slated to run after Street Car – if the weather holds. That’s a big “if” in New Orleans.

When the racing finally gets underway, the Old Man (in his CRKABRL nitrous Malibu) is set to take on a serious looking Corvette.
