Elvira – LS Swapped 1970 Chevelle Restomod
November 1st, 2024Have you heard about Elvira? This old girl is giving off serious sleeper vibes. Named after a previous owner, Elvira is a beautifully modified 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu built to drive. Here’s the rundown:
The chassis remains stock. It has been separated from the body and powder coated before being put back together with all new components. Ridetech coilover shocks are on all four corners. The wheels look like factory steel but they are 3-piece aluminum units from Forgeline (19 x 9.5 front and 19 x 10.5 rear). The tires are 275 on front and 305 in the rear.
The steel body is all stock with the exception of the SS hood. It hides a fuel injected LS2 V8 engine camouflaged to look like the factory 307 (sort of). Hooker headers and a complete exhaust system (including resonators) keeps the sleeper vibe going. The transmission is a 6-speed Tremec manual.
The car has cold air conditioning, premium audio and all the amenities associated with a vintage muscle car. Pristine bucket seats take the place of the factory bench seat that had to be sacrificed to accommodate the floor shifter. Like everything else in Elvira’s arsenal, the interior is cherry.
Y’all ready for a test drive?
