So, how fast is the McLaren 650S Spider? This video, from the VMax 200 Hypermax event near London, England, tells the tale. In almost any scenario, the 650S is at the top of the heap – from a performance perspective, but in this field that includes billions of dollars worth of supercars it may well be outmatched.

Take the driver’s point of view (U.S. market version), as the McLaren pulls to the line; now glance over and check out the left-hand drive Ferrari LaFerrari in the far lane. This thing is a hybrid-powered monster. Sure the McLaren packs quite a punch, with 650-horsepower and lightweight state-of-the-art carbon fiber construction, but the LaFerrari is in a whole different class of supercar. It boasts a 950-horsepower derived from a 6.3-liter V12 internal combustion engine and four-electric motors. The Ferrari also costs nearly a million-and-a-half dollars compared to the $250,000 price tag of the McLaren 650S Spider. As expected, the Ferrari has its way with the McLaren racer.
