Dodge Demon 170 vs McLaren 750S 1/4 Mile DRAG RACE
March 13th, 2025It don’t get no better than this! It’s a battle between the best of American muscle and a prototypical exotic supercar – in a classic quarter-mile drag race. We join our own Brooks Weisblat promoting the feature attraction that pits a 1,000hp McLaren 750S against Racer X in his 1,025hp Dodge Demon 170.
The rear-wheel drive Dodge Demon 170 is simply the best of the domestic market production performance cars. Equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI engine, the Demon can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 1.6-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 9.1-seonds @ 147 mph. The heavy Mopar featured in this video has been gutted (except for the driver’s seat). It has also been outfitted with custom wheels. At a curb weight of 4,250-pounds, the Demon still outweighs the 750S by approximately a half-ton.
In the other lane is the 3,250-pound, rear-wheel drive McLaren 750S. Rolling on those 26-inch rims – wrapped in Michelin PS4 rubber – this very bad girl looks cooler than the bottom side of the pillow. Modified with Pure turbochargers and a Red Star (catless) exhaust system, the 750S featured in this clip begins the day by posting a run of 8.9-seconds @ 160 mph. That’s the first McLaren 750S to dip into the eights.
On paper, the McLaren looks to be the favorite. However, a head-to-head matchup will reveal the human factor. Does Eric have the stones to stare the wheel standing Demon in the headlamps and emerge victorious? Soon, we shall see.
