Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye vs. Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE

For as long as domestic automobiles have been called ‘muscle cars’ Dodges and Chevrolets have battled on street and strip. With the resurgence of the muscle car in this century, the battle has certainly heated back up. Today, we will see how two of the baddest of the new era muscle cars stack up. First, we will witness a drag race. Second, we will get the two cars on the track and put them through some curves. Let’s see how things shake out.

The 2019 Redeye Challenger is basically a drag car (The Demon) with an enhanced handling package. It uses a 6.2-liter HEMI V8 with the largest supercharger to ever come on a production vehicle (2.7-liters). When the smoke clears, the car is making approximately 797hp and 707 lb.-ft. of torque. It weighs in at 4,443-pounds and has a top speed of 203 mph. Both cars are rear-wheel drive.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE also utilizes a supercharged 6.2-liter V8. The Chevy tips the scale at 3,883-pounds, can produce 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque and a top speed of 205 mph. As tested, the Dodge has an automatic transmission and the Chevy uses a manual.
