Daylight Street Hits – Nitrous Corvette vs. Turbo Mustang

August 12th, 2021

I ain’t saying that these good ol’ boys are rednecks, but they might have rednecks in their family. They have been talking worlds of smack on social media, now it’s time to let it all hang out in the holler. What’s a “holler” you ask? Well, that’s southern for hollow, which is a valley between two high hills (or mountains). No cover of darkness for this clash. These competitors are getting it on in the broad daylight. Check it out.

The first car featured in this video is a Chevrolet Corvette that has been purpose-built for street racing. Under the hood is a 6.0-liter LS2 truck motor with a healthy dose of laughing gas (nitrous). The iron block V8 is built with bulletproof internals and a Progressive cam. It is running a full accoutrement of bolt-ons and an automatic transmission with a stall converter.

Opposing the ‘Vette is a Gen IV Ford Mustang with no rear bumper cover. Making this pony-car go is a built 4.6-liter V8 engine being force fed air by a massive 78-millimeter turbocharger. A Holley Terminator X controller keeps all the ducks in a row and a GM TH400 automatic transmission has been fitted to the Ford motor.

Let’s see what happens when the time for talking is over and the rubber meets the road.
