Daily Drivers Dash for the Cash – Camaro LT1 vs. Mustang GT

November 7th, 2024

We are cranking things up on the streets (of Mexico) tonight. This grudge match has roots that date back to the earliest muscle cars. It’s naturally aspirated mayhem on these streets as a high-powered Camaro takes on a modified Mustang. Giddy-up!

Arrayed in black on black, the Ford Mustang GT rolls off the assembly line with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine mated to a 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission. This dual overhead cam Coyote motor could manage 460hp in factory condition. The Mustang featured in this video has been modified with a ported intake manifold, exhaust headers and an E85 tune.

The blue Chevrolet Camaro LT1 is also modified with a set of exhaust headers, a ported (LT2) intake manifold and an E85 tune. Powered by a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine (with a 10-speed automatic transmission), the Camaro was capable of producing 455hp in stock trim.

These two cars are about as evenly matched as any we have seen on this channel. Roll racing will commence at 60 mph and proceed to 150 mph. Happy motoring.
