Custom 1951 Henry J – 700HP Blown HEMI Dragster

July 8th, 2021

Thanks again to Sean at Autotopia for bringing us this unique ride. Sean’s friend Goose brought over his extraordinary 1951 Kaiser Henry J (nicknamed Hemi J) and gave us a detailed layout of the build – complete with a test drive. Check it out.

Of course, the body of this rare automobile has been customized with extreme precision. The front end features a front bumper from a 60s Camaro, the rear of the car has been totally frenched and the wheelbase has been shortened 10-inches. It is truly a one-of-a-kind work of art. The Brandywine metallic paint is from House of Kolor who offers the most stunning shades of candy paint on the planet. To say that this car is pristine is an understatement.

Making this 700hp street beast go is a supercharged 392 cubic-inch HEMI V8 engine with forged internals. The blower is a Weiand 6-71. The exhaust is 3-inch stainless-steel with electronic actuated cutouts. The transmission is a 5-speed Tremec manual with dual-clutches. Everything is balanced and blueprinted for smooth operation.

Let’s see how this beauty acts when the rubber meets the road.
