Have a closer look.

The all-wheel drive Porsche is powered by a 3.8-liter flat-6 motor with a pair of turbochargers. The Turbo S is rated at 640hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque at peak RPM. The transmission is an 8-speed dual-clutch PDK automatic, and the Porsche tips the scale at 3,530-pounds. Motor Trend Magazine says the Turbo S can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 10.1-seconds @ 137 mph. Top speed is 205 mph.

In the opposite lane is the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray. A mid-engine, all-wheel drive two-seater, the E-Ray features a 5.5-liter internal combustion engine combined with an electric motor. Together, they can generate 655hp and 595 lb.-ft. of torque. According to Car and Driver Magazine, the E-Ray can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5-seconds despite the curb weight of 4,100-pounds. Slightly quicker in the 0 to 60 mph arena, the E-Ray is a little slower than the Porsche in the quarter-mile at 10.6-seconds and 128 mph with a top speed of only 183 mph.

Both vehicles are equipped with launch control. The Corvette E-Ray costs approximately $100K less than the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
