Cobra Mustang vs. Coyote Mustang – Street Hits

November 22nd, 2022

When it is of vital importance that you know who has the baddest Mustang in town, you take it to the streets (of Mexico) and find out. With their machines finely tuned and in optimum trim, the two competitors removed the reigns to let their ponies loose on the interstate. It’s 50 mph roll racing for these two thoroughbreds, and they can’t hardly wait to get to it.

On the left is the fourth gen Ford Mustang SVT Cobra. This highly sought-after coupe came with a supercharged 4.6-liter V8 engine and a Tremec T56 manual transmission. In stock condition, this Mustang was rated at only 390hp and 300 lb.-ft. of torque. Despite the VMP 2.3-liter supercharger upgrade and the performance tuning, this Cobra will likely need plenty of 93-octane venom to take down the competition this evening.

In the right lane is a Gen VI Mustang 5.0. With a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter Coyote motor under the hood, this Mustang could generate 444hp and 390 lb.-ft. of torque from the factory. This car also has a manual gearbox. Upgrades include a Comp cams performance camshaft, a set of exhaust headers, a Cobra Jet intake manifold and an E85 tune. This car sounds great, but with no power adder, he could be looking down a long, hard road this evening.

Shall we follow these two cars onto the interstate and see what jumps off?
