Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 vs. BMW M8 Competition – Street Hits

January 18th, 2025

Cold asphalt makes for some hot street (roll) racing action south of the border. Tonight, we get to see a pair of nearly stock factory performance machines hook-up on the interstate. The first hit will be a 40 mph roll followed by a 60 mph roll.

Representing the good ol’ U.S. of A. is the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. This C8 version of the iconic Z06 features the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever – and it’s mid-mounted. In factory condition the 5.5-liter all-aluminum V8 can make 670hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. Unlike your average muscle car, this Corvette revs to 8,500 RPM. You want get-up-and-go? How about 0 t0 60 mph in 2.6-seconds? The C8 Z06 can turn the standing quarter-mile in 10.5-seconds @ 131 mph. Top speed is 189 mph and curb weight is 3,800-pounds. The car featured in this clip has been modified with a set of exhaust headers and performance mufflers. It also has an aftermarket intake and a set of beautiful carbon fiber wheels. Sweet ride.

Rolling out for the Bavarians is the 2023 BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe. Powered by a twin turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 motor, the M8 can generate 617hp and 553 lb.-ft. of torque at peak RPM. This luxurious canyon carver can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 10.7-seconds @ 129 mph. It tips the scale at 4,251-pounds with a top speed of 190 mph. As it stands, this Beemer is bone stock.

Time to hit the turnpike and bust someone’s bubble.
