TX2K21 Competitors Take to the Streets

March 24th, 2021

Where do you think all those TX2K21 gearheads go when the dragstrip closes? Well, this group of hardcore dig racers decided to do some street racing (on a closed course in Mexico). They trailered their Small Tire monsters in and prepared to get down for a pile of cash. The rules are typical. Don’t cut the light early. Don’t cross the center line in front of your opponent. Be the first to cross the finish line. Accomplish these three things more than anyone else on the property and take home all the money. Oh, by the way, it’s a single Read More

Modified Ford Lightning Pickup vs Dodge Demon – Track Digs

March 23rd, 2021

So, this modified Ford F-150 Lightning pickup has got a thing for this Dodge Demon. He wants a piece of him and has called him out on the dragstrip. It’s about to get down. The Gen II Ford Lightning was a factory performance machine equipped with a supercharged 5.4-liter motor. It could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4-seconds. In stock trim the Lightning made only 380hp and 340 lb.-ft. of torque. The Lightning pickup featured in this video has been modified for the sole purpose of drag and street racing. He’ll have his hands full with the Dodge Read More

Compton Speedway – Hellcat Redeye vs Twin Turbo 300Z

March 18th, 2021

Here we are back at the Compton Speedway. With the extreme buildup of rubber on the surface, this strip of public thoroughfare more closely resembles a dragstrip. Nevertheless, street racers gather here on a nightly basis to duke it out for cash money. As if the racing were not entertaining enough, the posturing and trash talking can be very boistrous. Other times, it results in violence and that is just sad. Should be all about the racing. Tonight, we have a good one on hand. A twin turbocharged (V8 swapped) Datsun Z-Car is taking on a Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye Read More

Rolling Coal – World’s Fastest Diesel Drag Truck

February 27th, 2021

Congratulations are in order for the Firepunk Diesel Drag Truck team. The Firepunk crew managed to get their Cummins diesel-powered 2000 Chevrolet S10 Pro Stock truck into the history books by posting an eighth-mile pass of 3.988-seconds @ 182.67 mph. While that might not be good enough to win the event, it is good enough to set a World Record for a diesel-powered dragster. Competing in the Radial Versus the World Class at 2021 Lights Out 12 (South Georgia Motorsports Park), the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel-powered S10 accomplished a feat that was unheard of a mere decade ago. Old School vs Nuevo Speed – TT Corvette and TT LS Rail Job

February 24th, 2021

Two cars could not be more different. The Corvette Z06 is spit and polish modern with leather interior, shiny paint and climate control. On the other hand – the rail job is a 1927 Dodge Split-Window Coupe with a bare-bones cockpit, a bit of patina on the exterior – and tons of attitude. Similarities include LS engines and twin turbochargers. Let’s see what happens when the rubber meets the road. The 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is capable of making 1,500hp. Today, it is detuned to 1200hp. The transmission is a 2-speed RPM Powerglide and the car tips the scale at Read More
