C7 Z06 Vette vs. Lamborghini Huracan
June 10th, 2015What is this? A humble Chevrolet that can hang in there with the legendary Italian supercar Lamborghini? It would seem to be the case in this video. This is a close one that takes place on an abandoned air-strip. The rear-wheel drive Z06 gets pretty “squirrely” during the warm-up pass, leading one to believe that it could have a problem against the all-wheel drive Huracan. Luckily this is a rolling race, so the hole shot is removed from the equation. The Chevy crosses the stripe first but the Lambo puts up a higher trap speed (151.4 mph to 150.4 mph).
Both these cars are prepared by R1 (Royal One) Motorsports from Chatsworth, California. By all accounts, the Lamborghini is bone stock and the Corvette has only been slightly modified. The Huracan manages to squeeze 610hp from a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine. It has a price tag of nearly $250k. The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 uses a 6.2-liter V8 to produce 650hp and it costs under $100k. R1 has also fitted this Z06 with a set of Kook’s stainless-steel exhaust headers.
