May 31st, 2023Today, we are taking this thing international with a series of races between a couple of motor-only domestic sleds and a twin turbo BMW. Only the BMW has been modified (slightly) to improve factory performance. Take a gander at these machines.
First up is the 2018 BMW M3 Competition. With a twin turbo 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine, the M3 can make 444hp and 406 lb.-ft. of torque from the factory. The rear-wheel drive Beemer weighs-in at 3,575-pounds and uses a 7-speed DCT transmission. It has been tuned to improve throttle response by Awaken Performance.
The 2017 Dodge Challenger T/A is equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter HEMI engine that is capable of producing 485hp and 475 lb.-ft. of torque in stock condition. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic and the rear-wheel drive Mopar tips the scale at a hefty 4,274-pounds.
Finally, the rear-wheel drive 2022 Chevrolet Camaro LT1 has a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 motor that can generate 455hp and 455 lb.-ft. of torque. The Camaro utilizes a 10-speed automatic transmission and weighs 3,788-pounds.
