Big Turbo BMW M3 vs. Nitrous Corvette Z06 – Street Hits
September 12th, 2024We are headed back to the street for feisty roll racing action in this video. We will be linking up with a pair of modified street monsters with a grudge. Here’s a rundown of the machinery.
The rear-wheel drive BMW M3 CS is equipped with a twin turbocharged 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that can churn out 543hp and 479 lb.-ft. of torque at peak RPM. This stock luxury sedan can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 10.7-seconds @ 129 mph. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic and top speed is 188 mph. The M3 featured in this clip has been modified with aftermarket connecting rods and pistons in the engine, it has been swapped to a big single turbo setup with a Precision 6266 and tuned to burn E85 fuel. He’s claiming 850hp to the Mickey Thompson Street ET tires on the rear.
In the opposite lane is the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine capable of producing 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque in stock trim. The Corvette Z06 could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2-seconds and blast through the quarter-mile in 10.95-seconds @ 127 mph in factory condition. The rear-wheel drive Z06 used an 8-speed automatic transmission and had a top speed of 195 mph. This ‘Vette has been enhanced with a Pritty Performance blower lid on the ported supercharger. It has a full accoutrement of supporting mods, including a high-performance camshaft, an E85 tune and a kit of nitrous. The Chevy is claiming 800whp without the nitrous.
This should be a close race.
