Big Block 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS Perfection

September 10th, 2024

Greetings gearheads and welcome to the left coast. That’s right, we are in sunny southern California again where Shawn from Autotopia LA is ready to introduce us to Fernando from Valley Speed Inc. Fernando has put together a 1970 Chevelle SS that’s bordering on perfection. Have a look:

The frame and sheet metal are bone stock. The only upgrades to the suspension are drop spindles in front, tubular control arms (front and rear) and coilover shocks on all four corners.

Stopping duties are left to a Wilwood four-wheel disc setup with six-piston fronts and four piston rear calipers. One modern feature of this classic build is the hydra-boost brake system. Hydra-boost utilizes the power steering pump and a hydraulic booster instead of the conventional vacuum booster. The wheels are Rueda forged in 18-inch. They are wrapped in Toyo rubber.

Under the hood is a numbers matching 6.0-liter big block upgraded with a high-performance camshaft and valvetrain to churn out 500hp at the crank. That amazing sound comes from Hooker exhaust headers with full Flowmaster exhaust all way out the back. The transmission is a Tremec 5-speed manual.

Inside, the color is ivory white, and it is original.

Enjoy the test drive.
