On the agenda is the Star-Spangled Shootout, a No Prep event that has drawn some of the biggest names in amateur drag racing. With a winner-take-all cash pot of $27K, this looks to be a wild weekend of No Prep action.

Following 1320 Video through the pits, we encounter Charles and his “wind-up” Fox Body Mustang. This Ford is LS swapped with a pair of 86-millimeter turbochargers. Chuck is making big power. What’s up with the wing placement, you ask? In theory, it plants the rear axle firmly to the pavement. Does it work, you ask? We will see.

Then there’s the Swamp Zombie Nova. Built in 1990, this slick Chevy features a 640 cubic-inch big block mill with two foggers delivering a 400hp dose of nitrous. On a good day, this Swamp Zombie can lay down 2,000hp to the pavement. Question is: Can this unprepped asphalt surface handle all that power?
