Arizona Cash Days – Big Money Street Digs

March 16th, 2021

This is how they get down in the desert. Twenty-four (sixteen in the Small Tire Class and eight in the Big Tire Class) of the baddest pure dig racers in the west have gathered to compete for their share of more than $7,000 in cash and the title “Best in the West”.

The first contest of the day involves a pair of old school Nova hardtails. The first is a Gen I Nova II and in the right lane is a Gen II Nova. The “late model” is rocking a turbocharged big block engine. The left lane takes the early advantage, but the right lane pulls ahead for the win. Nice race and the scenery is amazing. What a backdrop for racing!

Now we have a twin turbo LS powered Chevrolet S10 pickup against a Fox Body Mustang. The Ford looks like a hardcore drag racer. Unfortunately, the Mustang crosses the center line in front of his opponent. That is a no-no and he gets slapped with the DQ. S10 FTW.

Are you ready for this? A Volkswagen Beetle is on the card. Powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter engine, the doodle-bug will have his hands full against the twin turbocharged V8 Camaro in the left lane. The Camaro cuts a clean light and gets the early jump before experiencing mechanical issues at the midway point. The Beetle takes the win.

Listen, this one is just getting started and it ain’t one that you want to miss. Check it out.
