Your man Frank is at it again. In his own unassuming way, Frank has rooted out a grudge match between a big motor Corvette and a big turbo Beemer. These two are making ready at the local filling station. Soon racing will commence on the streets – of Mexico.

In the right lane is the menacing Chevrolet C6 Corvette Z06. This two-seater has been modified with a massive 429 cubic-inch V8. The motor is professionally built, ported and polished in all the right places and accented with the latest aftermarket bolt-ons. The ‘Vette is also running a custom ground camshaft, and it has been tuned to burn E85 go-go juice. With this big thump stick, the Z06 is hitting an exhaust note that could melt the heart of any gearhead. It sounds amazing.

Rolling out next to the Chevy is a BMW Z4 roadster. Equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine and a dual-clutch transmission, the Z4 is a barrel of laughs. This one has been upgraded with custom exhaust, a 6466 Precision turbocharger and an E50 tune. In its current state, this is one European sled that can really pick ‘em up and put ‘em down.

As these two chariots take to the interstate, one can’t help but notice that the Corvette sounds every bit like a marauding force. The BMW is a bit more subtle but seems super responsive under acceleration. This should be a close race. Buckle-up.
