600WHP Pro Touring Gen II Camaro by Chevy Girl

August 17th, 2022

If this clip has you wondering whether to look at the car or the girl, don’t feel bad. Laura (aka Chevy Girl) and Olive (the Camaro) are both outstanding specimens in their own right. Although, you might want to consider that the Camaro doesn’t talk and it sure sings a pretty song.

This is a 1973 Chevrolet Camaro with a split-bumper (1970.5) front clip. The exterior and interior are basically stock. Even the color is from a 1969 Camaro. It’s called Fathom Green (she thinks). Detroit Digital gauges and Vintage Air climate control round out the interior. Inside and out, this Camaro is clean and functional.

Under the hood is a big block LSX motor in 7.4-liter. That’s 454 cubic inches for all you old-timers (like me). Expert tuning and some quality bolt-ons help contribute to the plentiful power. The transmission is a Tremec T-56 manual, and the rear end is a Ford 9-inch with 3.73:1 gearing. Laura runs Olive exclusively in Autocross events.

The front and rear suspension are from Speedtech Performance and the (manual) brakes are Wilwood all around. The wheels are 18-inch Forgeline 3-piece wrapped in BFGoodrich rubber.

Time to let Laura treat us to a test drive. Buckle-up!
