2016 Dodge Viper ACR – The Fastest Viper Ever
May 8th, 2015The introduction of the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR (for American Club Racer) brings with it the promise of unrivaled performance. Though not exactly a straight line dragster, the ACR will be a beast on the road course. A six-foot dual element adjustable rear wing, multiple dive planes, a detachable front splitter extension, removable hood louvers, and a rear underbody diffuser provide supreme aerodynamic properties and optimum downforce at the 177 mph top speed. Specially designed Kumho Ecsta V720 tires in massive 295/25R19 (front) and 355/30R19 (rear) and 10-way adjustable Bilstein shocks yield the stickiness in the corners.
The familiar 8.4-liter V10 engine sends 645-horsepower and 600-lb.-ft. of torque through a Tremec TR6060 manual gearbox and to the rear wheels. Interior amenities are sparse but consumers can opt for Dodge’s “1-of-1” special order program if customization is their bag.
