1200HP Twin Turbo Audi Build Makes Maiden Voyage

April 14th, 2021

Some time ago, we introduced you to Kyle (from 1320 Video) and showed you his AMS built Audi R8 V10 Plus. The twin turbo build was a thorough undertaking that yielded a street car that makes in excess of 1,200whp. This time, we take you to the track (TX2K21) for the first roll racing hits for this newly built Audi.

The car arrives in Texas via the AMS transport from Chicago. It is the first time that Kyle has seen the car completely assembled and he is overjoyed. With all the back slapping and neck hugging out of the way, it was time to get down to racing. The roll race qualifier was first on the agenda. Considering Kyle’s preliminary hits, he was not confident that he’d make the show this year.

Despite the car being good for over 175 mph, a severe wobble under heavy acceleration was vexing Kyle and the AMS team. A quick word with a competitor in another Audi – and a wheel/tire swap – seemed to solve the issue. Surprisingly, the R8 made the cut and got in the third group for the roll racing.

After a few lucky breaks, Kyle finds himself in the semi-final round of roll racing. Another win in the semi-final puts the R8 in the finals against a Ciccio Performance Nissan GT-R. The GT-R just nudges past Kyle, but he had a blast and gained some valuable experience.

Now, get ready for some street hits with unsuspecting ride-along guests. Enjoy the thrills.
