1000WHP Corvette ZR1 vs. 1300WHP TT Hellcat – Track Battle

July 13th, 2022

So, these guys have been talking plenty of smack over the last two-years. In the past, whenever these two cars were in the same place, there was some sort of problem. When one car was ready to race, the other car was broken. On and on it went. Finally, both competitors are on hand and prepared to race. Time to put up or shut up at Pocono.

The Corvette ZR1 is the flagship of the Chevrolet lineup. With a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, the stock ZR1 is capable of producing 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. This ‘Vette has been to LMR (Late Model Racecraft) for some radical modifications. First of all, the engine has been replaced with a billet unit that is virtually indestructible. The bottom end is good for 2,000+hp. The transmission has also been built to withstand extreme horsepower. The LT5 blower has been ported and the throttle body has been upgraded to a 120-millimeter unit. The fuel injection system has also been beefed up to accommodate the extra air. Maximum output is now rated at 1,000WHP.

Originally equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8, this Dodge Challenger Hellcat has been modified with a twin turbocharger setup. Other modifications include open exhaust and an air-to-water intercooler. The owner claims that this Mopar can generate 1,300hp to the rear wheels. It’s time to prove it.
