1000HP Chevy Trailblazer vs. 900HP Dodge Charger Hellcat – Drag Racing

April 12th, 2022

It’s about to get real up in here as Big Booty Judy (a 1000hp Chevrolet Trailblazer) lines up against Christina (900hp Charger Hellcat) for some closed course drag racing passes. Both these competitors have purpose built these daily drivers to do battle on street or strip. Let’s see which one did a better job.

Big Booty Judy is doing business as a 5,000-pound SUV loaded with an engine bay full of fun. The puny 5-cylinder has been swapped for a turbocharged 6.6-liter (402 stroker) mated to a 4-speed 4L80E automatic transmission. In addition to the obvious drag slicks on the rear and the carbon fiber hood, this grocery getter is hiding some other performance goodies. There’s an 80-millimeter Borg Warner turbocharger with a set of 1300cc fuel injectors from Injector Dynamics supplying the extra go-go juice. This big girl tops out at 1000hp to the rear wheels.

The Dodge Charger Hellcat is synonymous with horsepower. Under the bonnet of this rear-wheel drive sedan is a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 followed by an 8-speed automatic transmission. Christina tips the scale at 4,500-pounds and she is ‘virtually stock’. The only thing keeping her from being fully stock is a supercharger pulley upgrade, a set of exhaust headers, a cold air intake and a lightweight driveshaft. Oh, and it’s been tuned to run E85 fuel – but that’s all. Maximum output is estimated at 850 – 900hp.

Shall we get these two heavy-duty chicks lined up and see who wants it more?
