3rd Gen Camaro Build
A (lotta) work in progress. I started this project to swap a 191cubic inch
V6 to a 350 V8 (along with performance parts, and swapping & upgrading the
transmission) in 2009. (see modifications list below.) These are pictures
and videos as I progressed and the very first engine start and test drive.
I applied primer to protect the metal as I knew I would have to put the
project on hold, which is where it has been since. Plan to start again by
gutting & redoing the interior here in 2012.

LS1 LSx 5.3 Squirter Exhaust Idle Rev 92 Camaro RS - Tag Z28 IROC
This was recorded just after having the Exhaust welded up after the LSx swap. The story
on the "Squirter" engine project can be found on my channel in the Squirter
The Exhaust is stock '98 Camaro manifolds to dual 2.5"
pipes ran along each side of the T56 trans. Then the two pipes Y at the
rear of the trans into a 4" Mufflex cat back system over the axle to a
Spintech muffler with a single 4" tip.
The purpose in the 4" Exhaust is for
my future turbo build on this car, to
reduce back pressure on the turbo. Also
I figure if i need more back pressure while naturally aspirated I can more
easily add a restriction than remove one.

LS1 Iroc at the track
11.67. Not the best run, so far best run has been an 11.62 @117 with the
18' wheels but didn't catch it on video. The car still has more in it with
a better launch and some drag wheels and slicks.
Spike 1986 LS1 swaped Camaro
A day at the Dyno for
calibration. April 30, 2011.
About the car (from my brother SpikeIROC) :
- The car is an 1986 Camaro IROC.
- Headlights are eBay cheapos that will soon be swapped for LED
- It put down 400 whp and 390 tq thu a T56 and a fabbed 9" rear end.
- Brakes are C6Z front and rear.
- I swapped hatch to get the cleaner look I was looking for.
- It was trailered to the Dyno because it was not tuned
and I was not willing to risk damaging my new engine.
- The car The wheels are Bonspeed Intense 5. They are now powdercoated

LS1 Iroc 1st track run
86 iroc Camaro LS1
making its first few runs at the track, 2nd run started spinning when it
shifted into second so i had to get out of it, then floored it again and
still managed a 12.5, not too shabby if you ask me...
