I wanted to share this video with all you who wants to retrofit a stearing
wheel with cruise control. Follow the steps and you should be able to DIY.
This Video does not not cover M47 and engines before 2001/9. The plug in
the DDE is a 40 pin on those models.
You need a lot of tools for this job, but most are common to a DIY

Here's how to the diagnostic test the diagonostic test on an E46. This will
also work on almost any BMW built in the 90's and up:
1. Press and hold left button.
2. Turn key to at least 1 click. let go of left button.
3. Press left button again so "test 2" appears.
4. Wait about second and press left button again.
5. enjoy the show light show.

They also sell an aftermarket retrofit kit using a geniune bmw dct shifter
for around $399 and up on eBay. So please please stop asking me where to
get it!!! You can also call or visit your local BMW Dealership and order
it for $200!
Because my car is a 2001 E46, the original pattern of my steptronic M plate
was + above -. After the DCT shifter retrofit I decided to upgrade the
steptronic indicator plate and switch the purple/blue wires around under
the plate so the M upshift and downshift coincided with the pattern on the
DCT shifter and matched the actual shifting pattern of all BMW sports
steptronic cars from 2002 to present.

Follow me as I check my Battery Voltage to see if I need a new battery or

1. Hold Trip Reset while turning ignition key to on position
2. OBC should show "Test"
3. Use Trip Reset to select function 19.0 that unlocks all the features
3. Wait for display to show "Off"
4. Depress Trip Reset for 1/4 second and release it
5. With no delay press Trip Reset several times to select one of the

HOW TO: BMW E46 M3 Oil Change (2001 to 2006 Model Years)
It's rewarding to do work on your own M3 and Oil Changes are one of the
easiest things you can do. I hope my comprehensive DIY instructions can
give you the confidence needed to do your own oil change.

E46 vapor barrier door fix
How to reseal a faulty vapor barrier. The symptoms of a bad vapor barrier
are wet carpets underneath the dash of the car after rain showers. This
was done on a 2001 330i.

Here is my first video showing how to remove the trailing arm on a BMW e46.
I had the wheelbearing replaced by a friend, but the protector (backing)
plate was damaged - the mounting holes for the parkbrake shoe got flattened
by the press. I tried to get the (very specific) recess into place again,
fitted everything and the brakeshoes came off during the test drive :argh:
I temporarily removed the shoes and continued testing.
I am now awaiting the new plate to arrive and in the mean time removed the
trailing arm for fitment.
The shop can replace the wheel bearing with a sliding hammer, which is
propably less work and there is no need for wheel alinment.
I prefer to have everything checked again.
