1965 Chevy Impala SS NASCAR Grand National Stock Car - 1st engine start
This is the first engine start of this Roy Mayne 1965 Chevy Impala SS in over 40+ years. The engine is a Chevy Big Block 427 (396 .60 over) 60s era NASCAR spec motor. This is the real deal. This car raced from 1965 - 1967 in the NASCAR Grand National Stock Car series on such famous tracks as Daytona and Darlington. Roy's best finish was at Darlington in 1965 when he finish 4th in this car. This car is being restored in under 30 days to compete in this years 2010 Monterey Sports Car Reunion (aka Monterey Historics) at Laguna Seca Raceway note the flickering you see on the dash is due to a bad ground, something we fixed after I took the video
