2013 Scion FR-S Long Beach Grand Prix Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race Car @ Chicago Auto Show

http://www.autobytel.com/scion/fr-s/2013/ At the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Scion unveiled the new line of FR-S race cars for the upcoming Long Beach Grand Prix Toyota Pro/Celebrity Event. Scion is very excited to have the new FR-S be the official Toyota Pro/Celebrity car. This will mark the first time in over 20 years that a RWD car has been chosen. It was a natural choice to move from the Scion tC to the FR-S which was designed to be an affordable sports car from the beginning. Craig Taguchi gives Autobytel a closer look at what goes into making a car race ready. Starting with a stock 2013 Scion FR-S, a handful of modifications have been performed; mostly in the name of safety. There are a few TRD parts thrown into the mix for added excitement. But for the most part, the car remains relatively stock. Staring up front, the headlights and fog lights have been removed and replaced with delete (fake) units. These cars will be racing and should there be any incidents on the track, a bunch of plastic and glass shards will not be left on the track. The rims are TRD 18-inch cast aluminum units with a matte black finish that compliments the red paint scheme on the car. You will also notice the longer safety stud holding the wheel to the hub. The wheels are wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tires that provide more grip for the race track. Out back there are a few more TRD accessories. The genuine TRD spoiler will be available at your local dealership soon. The TRD dual Exhaust system features contoured tips that blend in with the bumper. On the inside, the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Scion FR-S Race Car has a window net to keep the drive safe from road debris. The 5-point harness seat belts add another layer of safety while also keeping the driver planted when pulling lateral G's. There is a battery kill switch and full fire safety suppression system. Rounding out the interior safety modifications is the full roll cage. Kia Cross GT Concept Car Video @ 2013 Chicago Auto Show
http://www.autobytel.com/auto-shows/united-states/chicago/ The Kia Cross GT Concept CUV represents a styling and design exercise for Kia. It is unlikely that this vehicle will ever go into production. But what this crossover utility vehicle does represent is a potential CUV for Kia. The Kia Cross GT Concept is larger than any vehicle currently being offered by Kia and it's an undeniably good looking design. Under the hood is a 400 horsepower hybrid V-6 powertrain which is another part of this concept that we are unlikely to see on the street in its current form. The good news is that the lines of this concept CUV are likely to influence future models coming from the Kia brand and it could indicate that the company is on its way to dramatically revise the design across its entire line of vehicles. Unveiling of the all new 2013 Scion FR-S Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race Car. 2013 Client: Spirit Marketing for Toyota

2013 Scion FR-S New Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/scion/fr-s/2013/?id=32972 The FR-S in the 2013 Scion FR-S stands for front engine, rear wheel drive sports car. This 2-door coupe is a very fun car to drive and is a joint venture between Toyota and Subaru. Back in 2007 the 2 manufacturers decided to build this car together so much of the engine technology, parts, and even the chassis is shared. Base price on the 2013 Scion FR-S is $24,200. The 2013 Scion FR-S is powered by a 2.0 liter boxer engine which is a essentially a flat-4 cylinder motor developed by Subaru. Power is pretty good for a naturally aspirated 2.0 liter engine at 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft. of torque. There are 2 different transmission choices: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The automatic transmission is much more fuel efficient at 25 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway. The Scion FR-S was designed to be a great handling everyday affordable sports car and while this vehicle does not have a ton of power, it does have a great center of gravity and almost perfect weight distribution (for a front engine car) at 55% front and 45% rear. To illustrate just how serious the engineers are about the handling capabilities of the 2013 Scion FR-S, the car has a lower center of gravity than both a Nissan GTR and Porsche Boxster which are considered some of the best handling cars in the world. The exterior of the Scion FR-S conveys a ton of fun. Scion calls this styling Neo-Functional Design and the car is all about being low, light, and beautiful. It is all about power-to-weight ratio in this car and features like an aluminum hood help keep the curb weight down to 2750 lbs. The 17-inch alloy wheels are not only very stong and lightweight but they also look good! The dual Exhaust system and rear diffuser really tie the whole look of the rear end together. With the 2013 Scion FR-S you will be able to accessorize and customize this car in a number of different ways by choosing the paint color, adding optional wheels and a body kit, or upgrading the stereo. The Scion FR-S was designed from the ground up to be an affordable car that you could drive on the streets then take out on the track for a little fun.
