1980 Mercedes 300SD cold start
Overnight temperatures were in single digits to low teens, summer fuel, no block heater, West Texas elevations- a 180 from the softer San Diego temps my car is used to. Struggled a bit the first go-around but the next morning cycled glow plugs twice, made a world of difference.

Swapping out the Alternator from a 1982 W123 Mercedes-Benz 240D Diesel
My girlfriend just purchased this classic car to be converted to run on waste vegetable oil. The alternator died a few days ago and we decided to take the opportunity to install the larger 70 Amp unit in anticipation of the dual-tank kit which will require more power. So being the first step on this journey I wanted to document as much as I could and share it with everyone! It was a pain to pull the old alternator out, Mercedes engineers overbuilt the bracket to say the least and we had to resort to brute force measures to ultimately make the swap. But all-in-all it was pretty straight forward and the car is now running great! Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this fun project. 1975 Mercedes Benz 300D VERY Cold Start Winter W115 OM617 (-19F)

I only paid 300 dollars for it, the guy thought it had a blown engine, but it turned out the timing on the injector pump was way off. I ended up taking the injector pump off and putting it on the right teeth, and doing the drip test, and etc. It has rolled over twice now, it has finally just broke in at around 230,000 miles. It runs great and I put about 45 miles a day on it. Best diesel ever made in my opinion. Keep in mind it is VERY cold sometimes in North Idaho, and this afternoon it was a cold day, and it finally started. It starts way better in 30 degrees and up weather! :-)

Mercedes-Benz S 600 Pullman Guard

Mercedes-Benz E-Guard
The Mercedes-Benz E-Guard models are available in three engine variants.
The six-cylinder diesel unit in the E 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Guard develops 195 kW (265 hp) and 620 newton metres of torque. The V6 petrol engine in the E 350 Guard has an output of 200 kW (272 hp). The most powerful variant is the 5.5-litre V8 in the E 500 Guard, which develops 285 kW (388 hp). Because of the run-flat tyres which are standard for all E-Guard models,
their top speed is limited to 240 km/h.
All E-Guard models have high protection to level VR4. Their occupants enjoy the same generous spaciousness and high ride comfort as in the standard models.
Mercedes-Benz G 500 Guard

1980 Mercedes 300sd turbo diesel rough cold start with non working glow plugs.
Here is a cold start (kinda) of a 1980 Mercedes 300sd after sitting in a garage for a couple days. The temperature was about 45 deg. I've only had the car for a week now and realize that it needs a few things, one of which is glow plugs.
