I only paid 300 dollars for it, the guy thought it had a blown engine, but
it turned out the timing on the injector pump was way off. I ended up
taking the injector pump off and putting it on the right teeth, and doing
the drip test, and etc.
Swapping out the Alternator from a 1982 W123 Mercedes-Benz 240D Diesel
My girlfriend just purchased this classic car to be converted to run on
waste vegetable oil. The alternator died a few days ago and we decided to
take the opportunity to install the larger 70 Amp unit in anticipation of
the dual-tank kit which will require more power. So being the first step on
this journey I wanted to document as much as I could and share it with
everyone! It was a pain to pull the old alternator out, Mercedes engineers
overbuilt the bracket to say the least and we had to resort to brute force
measures to ultimately make the swap. But all-in-all it was pretty straight
forward and the car is now running great! Feel free to contact me with any

Biggest Challenge When Removing a Mercedes Diesel Starter Motor
lacement-1969-1985. Getting the hex head bolts out can be the toughest part
of the job - especially the top bolt. You just can't get a straight shot at
it and both bolts seem to be on way too tight. That means you also need
something that can deliver a lot of torque.
This primarily applies to the 1969 to 1985 220D, 240D, 300D, 300CD, 300TD

1986 Mercedes 300E Will not crank/start!
I got this car for free from my uncle, its in great condiiton. I've done
everything to tune it up including the fuel filter, spark plugs, wires,
rotor etc. However after I did all of that it just stopped starting and now
it wont even crank. The oils clean so I know the engines not seized. What
could it be?
300D Mercedes - Bleeding Engine
$300 car, all it needed was a bleeding and then it drove great. It was
sitting in this guy's yard for 2 1/2 years with air in the engine due to a
loose fuel filter. He thought it was broken so he gave it away =] engine
has only 195,000 miles on it, which is nothing for these cars. It has the
standard straight 5 engine.
I will be using this car in my first veggie oil conversion project.
1980 Mercedes 300SD cold start
Overnight temperatures were in single digits to low teens, summer fuel, no
block heater, West Texas elevations- a 180 from the softer San Diego temps
my car is used to. Struggled a bit the first go-around but the next morning
cycled glow plugs twice, made a world of difference.
