The car was being broken in so it wasn't at full power... and as you'll notice, the way these guys like to play, spinning is just part of the game!

Personal Opinion: I'm open minded in cars so I won't pick on Chinese cars. But they need something much better than this if they want to succeed. If you watch Jeremy Clarkson's car years, the Japanese swamped the world with cheap and reliable cars equipped with luxuries that others charge you extra for. They brought the US and UK motor industry to its feet to say the least. GM tried to compete Japanese cars on price by cutting corners, they failed. Land Rover had to move up market because the Toyota Land Cruiser was so damn reliable. Recently the Koreans are took that reliability factor to the next level with 7 year warranty and now they employ good designs and quality on their cars to make sure they have some sort to USP to brag about other than price and reliability that you also get in other brands. The only problem for the Chinese is, what USP can they offer? Cheap is nothing when you can pick a better car in the used car dealer. Let alone with the lack of luxury and safety features it has.

The massive big-block makes 1,275 horsepower between the fenders of a 2006 Holden HSV VE Clubsport R8. In American, that's like a Pontiac G8. This display of overkill is the product of "Gup," the promoter of the Powercruise series of events in Australia, New Zealand, and Minnesota (USA) where tire smoke is the rule. On the show, you'll see tire fire from Gup's infamous "Elvis" '74 Holden HQ, from his 727ci Clubbie, from a 1,500ci diesel semi truck, and from Downunder's most throttle-happy petrolheads on both coasts. The miracle is that Freiburger and Finnegan aren't still in an Aussie jail. Of course, that might have been less punishing than the 30-hour flight home. 727ci V8 HSV vs Twin Turbo Lamborghini Gallardo - Powercruise 37
At Powercruise 37 at Queensland Raceway, Gup bought out his newly built 727ci V8 HSV for a little fun in the off-street racing practice. It's not finished yet, but with the biggest capacity engine in any street car we know of in Australia, it certainly gets up and moves. He decided to line up Graham's twin-turbo Lamborghini Gallardo. It runs around 6psi of Boost on a stock engine with a yet to be sorted E-gear, but it's no slouch. Graham got the jump, but Gup was able to reel him in. At the finish line it was a draw, but past it, the HSV nosed in front.
