Der erste Ausschnitt aus meiner DVD Stationärmotorentreffen Burkhardtsdorf 2011 ( 50 Miinuten, siehe Homepage ) Start und lauf von zwei Sternmotoren. Zuerst läuft der kleinere Wilga Sternmotor mit 10L Hubraum. Anschliessend wird der Antonov Sternmotor mit 30 Litern Hubraum und 1000PS vorbereitet und gestartet. Das war ein eindrucksvolles Erlebnis. Die Lautstärke ist unvorstellbar! First start a Wilga Radial Engine. MERCEDES-BENZ W154: Der Höhenstraßen-Sieger Dieser W154 mit Chassis-Nummer 11 ist jenes Auto, mit dem Rudolf Caracciola 1939 Rekorde fuhr, Hermann Lang auf der Wiener Höhenstraße siegte, und Juan Manuel Fangio 1951 in Buenos Aires Dritter wurde. Der 3-Liter V-12 Zylinder mit vier obenliegenden Nockenwellen besaß zwei Roots-Gebläse mit Stahlrotoren in einem Magnesium-Gehäuse, sie liefen mit 1,5facher Kurbelwellen-Drehzahl und beanspruchten bei 8000 Touren 160 PS der Höchstleistung. 1939 wurde der W154 modifiziert. Das Trockengewicht sank von 975 auf 898 kg, mittels Zweistufen-Gebläse wurde die Leistung auf 480 PS getrieben. Der Spritverbrauch lag im Rennen zwischen 120 bis und 145 Liter pro 100 Kilometer, das benötigte Tankvolumen von 400 Liter wurde in einem Satteltank vor dem Cockpit und einem Hecktank aufgeteilt. Von 16 Rennen gewann der W154 in den Jahren 1938/39 elf.

Mercedes 190 SL Barn Find.
This is a documentation of a true barn find. The car is a 1959 Mercedes 190 SL Roadster. It was purchased from a 90 year old woman in NJ. The car had not been on the road since 1993 when her husband died. Using a clay cleaning system and 3 step polishing with an oribital polisher, I brought the cars finish back to life. I took about 200 photographs about ever 5 minutes, over 3 days. The total elapsed time was about 14 hours. I hope you enjoy whatching as much as I enjoyed bring the car back to life! Starting the 1909 Blitzen-Benz, UNEDITED, @ Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance
The Blitzen-Benz was purpose built to do just one thing, to break speed records (not racing), and it did repeatedly from 1909 through 1911. (Edited version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga2HtUHzUuw ) Its speed of 228.1km/h (141.73mph) on April 23rd, 1911, driven by Bob Burman at Daytona Beach, stood as a record until 1919. Twice the speed of the fastest airplane, (12 April, 1911, Alfred Leblanc @ 69.442mph/111.801kph in a Blériot Blériot) and even shattering the record speed of 210km/h set by a locomotive in 1903. This record was not even officially broken in an airplane until 1920! Of the six originally built, this is one of only two that exist today, and is displayed at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. While the extended and nuanced effort required to start the Blitzen-Benz on a cool coastal morning can try the patience of some viewers, its historical significance and ground-breaking engineering brilliance still place it amongst the greatest motor-vehicle achievements of all time, and the dozens witnessing this effort felt it was one of the highlights of many great moments at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2011.
