I made this for my partner Gene. This shows a little of what he has done to get this car back on the road again. He bought it as a shell. It now has a nice built 327 with a 4 speed in it.
CJ's Evil 55 Chevy Gasser
Primered, ugly, noisey fast and driven on the street all the time.
The duct tape on my right knee was needed to pass tech inspection, because of a small hole in my jeans. Thanks for watching.

1955 Chevy Gasser Pro Street,.. future project
We picked this up in Dayton, Texas.. It's a 1955 Chevrolet 2 door hardtop BelAir.. It looks a lot worse than it is, the floor pans are the worse thing about it, but once we get the body off the frame it won't be so bad., We'll probably put the body on a rotessire and turn it upside down to work on it.. We're going to use a straight axle out of one of our early '50's Chevy pickups.. The rear end will be a 12 bolt posi track Olds, with 456 gears, and ladder bars..We'll build a 350 Chevy small bolt stroker for it, with a Muncie 4 speed transmission.. We're not going to run a front bumper. It will have a nice hood scoop, the car will have a good stance, and plenty of meat for the rear tires.
426 Hemi in a '55 Chevy! Roadkill Episode 8
On this episode of Roadkill, HOT ROD's David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan hit the road on a quest to build a car they've both dreamed of for years: a '55 Chevy Bel Air sedan set up like a '60s Gasser and powered by a Mopar 426 Hemi. The guys drag out a '73 GMC Suburban that they'd never driven more than around the block (did you expect anything else?), then use it to pick up a bare '55 Chevy body in California before heading north for the 1,000-mile trip to Lincoln City, Oregon. That's the home of Jim Meyer Racing, the chassis builder that helps the guys turn the '55 into a wicked looking hot rod in a single day. There's no fail in this episode of Roadkill! Well, at least nothing terminal.
