1974 Plymouth Gold Duster survivor
Here's a short video of my 1974 Duster that I bought in 2016. My apologies for the poor audio quality. This car had 49,847 original miles on it when purchased, and is almost all original with the exception of the quarter panels which have been replaced. It has the original 225 cubic inch six cylinder engine and A-904 automatic transmission. It is a very basic car, with few options that include power steering, an AM radio and the Gold Duster package. I've spent the last year removing any incorrect components and replacing them with refurbished stock original parts to keep it as correct as possible. The car was Ziebart rustproofed when new, which explains the black inner fenders in the engine compartment. Though underpowered, it's a blast to drive and has that 1970's feel to it. I purchased it to recreate my first car, which was also a 1974 Plymouth Duster with the Gold Duster package that I bought before my senior year in college. I'm restoring it as a "tribute car" to honor the memory of my college classmates from the Class of 1978 at the University of Notre Dame. Note the vintage Notre Dame parking sticker in the left quarter window, and the 1974 Minnesota license plates with May of 1978 (our graduation month) tabs. Enjoy!
