How To Do A Valve Adjustment On Your Honda Prelude H22 BB6
Knowing how to do a valve adjustment can save you a lot of worry and
headache. The Honda Prelude is known for its H22 engine. Taking care of the
H22 will provide you with years of reliability and performance.
Doing routine valve adjustments will keep your car running at peak
performance. The H22 2.2 Liter VTEC engine can also fit into other cars as
well, so even though this video is for a Honda Prelude BB6, if you have a
H22 then this video is for you.

ONLY ADJUST VALVES WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD, or less than 100 degrees
Fahrenheit or (38 degrees Celsius) .
Intake: 0.15 - 0.19 mm (0.006 - 0.007 in)
Exhaust: 0.17 - 0.21 mm (0.007 -0.008
Valve Cover torque specs: 8.7 lbf-ft
Ignition wire cover: 7.2 lbf-ft
Alternator Terminal: 6 lbf-ft
After adjusting the valves torque down the crankshaft pulley bolt to 245
N-m (181 lbf-ft)

runners, we were able to achieve nearly 25 more whp then a previous
customers Jackson Racing Supercharged Prelude. Solid torq numbers from 3k
all the way till redline provides a constant pull ideal for daily enjoyment
instead of waiting for a Boost gauge
to show anything on the needle common in turbo setups.
