Hpno & Jaz Adventures! Changing the top right motor mount on a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT
This is my first auto repair video. I'm not a professional videographer nor a mechanic. Under no circumstance am I saying I am a professional. We usually do things ourselves to save money and because we know how to do them, but when we don't we do see a professional mechanic. This video does not replace in any way the advice of a professional mechanic. You might experience more car shaking after replacing a motor mount, specially if you only replace one and you have other bad motor mounts. Mine were replaced about 3 1/2 years ago by the dealer. They should not wear that quick, but I drive my car a lot and I drive it hard so that's why I had to replace them again. Plus when I bought my car it had already been hit apparently (my mechanic said so) and the frame of the car in one side is pushed in which might cause more vibration and more wear and tear. I purchased this motor mount from Advanced Auto Parts and it cost me $37.99 plus tax so around 41 bucks. I know at Auto Zone is the same price at least in my area and you can find them at ebay or another store for cheaper. If you are going to get it replaced at a professional, I do advice for you to ask if you can buy your own part. I know when I used to go to Tire Kingdom I would always buy my part and just pay for labor because they double the prices on parts now that I moved, I don't have the same luck. Some places will not accept that. But if you know where they buy their parts which is usually an auto part store near them, just buy it yourself. Get a quote and the parts you need and then give it to them to use. Price might vary in your state. The other motor mounts will be checked and replaced as well at a later time. If I do a video of the replacement I will post it. I believe that one can learn about cars and learn enough to do your own repairs. But nothing compares with professional advice.

PT Cruiser Engine Mounts. Part 2
PT Cruiser engine mounts are not designed to last very long. This is just a rough look at what worn mounts can look like. It is reasonably an easy job to do, BUT if you are going to replace the 3rd mount, which is more or less centre of the motor, be prepared to drop the motor to change it. There is next to no room to even undo, let alone removing and replacing the mid mount. ALL 3 mounts are on the one side of the engine, Why 3??? I dont know but dont be shy to try do it yourself. As top and bottom are reasonably easy to change.
Why i put this together, was because i couldnt find next to no info on the PT,s engine mounts, so this will give a very rough look at how it all goes.
How to take replace Motor Mount - Part 2
This is a brief picture of how to take apart the "Motor Mount" of a 2004 Ford Focus. We get into more detail, breaking it down to a normal level , from what the "Dealer Mechanic" will tell you!!!. My friend Hector is the mechanic for this video.
- In all it took about 45mins total, and is on a "Easy/Medium" work skill level.
- In order to do this Job , make sure you have the proper tools , and jacks for this procedure.
