Tomei EVO 2.3 L stroker acceleration
My new engine got ready and I took it to a quick acceleration test. The engine develops 426 crank HP and 485 lbft (660 nm) torque. Running on pump gas. EDIT: Many people asked so I add this info here: The cars peak HP is exactly at 5700 rpm. After this the HP curve goes down and the torque falls like a brick. The very optimal range to accelerate is between 5000-6000- this is where the car makes 410+ HP. Revving this engine beyond 6k is stupid because of the small stock turbocharger.

Everyone loves wrecks, so here it is. This is the in car Highlight and Crash video of my EVO IX from the MVR PCA Drivers Education Event at Mid Ohio in October 2007. It's been over 4 years since this happened, and is a constant reminder of what happens when you get it wrong and the dangers of track driving. Luckily my instructor and I both walked away (once the car was stabilized that is). If you want to see the crash only fast forward to the end. Enjoy.
