Mallory Park Modsports & Supersaloons 290811
Movie I made at the CSCC Modsports and Super Saloons Revival Challenge
meeting at Mallory Park on 29/08/2011. Features;
Jeff Wilson and his team fettle the ex-Mick Hill VW Bug V8, they never did
solve the problem causing a viscous weave underbraking. David Tetley and
his crew warm the "Stars and Stripes" Opel Manta 400-Pontiac V8; Thomas
Carey warming the Imp Californian; Bill Richards warming his Rover Metro;
Bernie Chodosh warming his Chevy Corvette; Joss Ronchetti in the Sunbean
Talbot Lotus. Then out for practice, footage from session two. Then lunch
and the rain comes down, first race is a wet start, Mike Wilds in Daf-ne
takes off, Pete Edwards comes through in the Escort Mk2 class-B
Thundersaloon to take the win on a greasy track. Race two is much faster, Simon Allaway (lotus Silouette) and
Pete Stevens (Sertec Carlton TS) having a real battle. Michael Bell the the
"Lairy Canary" Escort has a big moment, Lee Costello in the other black
Escort (V8 power in this one) comes through before it throws the cooling
belt. Unfortunately the camera stopped then, just as the fun was really

the track sessions, and on board Cameras
Well... another stonking weekend, in great company and the best
We all arrived friday lunchtime to a waterlogged and still pouring down
race track, the marshalls sent us to the far side up on the higher ground
to pitch camp Rossi across the boggies muddiest dirt track you ever
saw......... Think....Glastonbury.. on a good day ..
By the time we finished Setting Up We were soaked through to the Skin.
The rain let up and on Friday night we got to have a look close up with no
crowds at some of the stunning machines that were there.
Saturday morning and Anne and Jason were first up on the Track, Anne on our
1979 Special and jase on A GPZ 500, Sean Allens newly built and gleaming
RD350 Special went out on its maiden voyage in Session 6 and performed
Wayne took the Dunstall special out in Session 16 and blew the cobwebs from
it and looking the part. Finally at 4pm in session 27 they let me, Phil and
Ginge loose and the pics will no doubt follow, 3 Blue X7's, i personally
managed 90MPH as i came off the devils elbow and down the hill towards
Gerrards and i was taking that at 65MPH by the last lap, i can tell you the
smiles were a mile wide from us all after our Sessions.
Saturday night there was a Q&A on the main stage with a few of the past
masters, namely Kevin Schwantz, Randy Mamola, Neil Hodgeson & Carl Fogerty
which was entertaining and then it was back to Camp Rossi for the BBQ.
Sunday Morning we were up and over to the paddock to look at all the race
machines that were being fired up and paraded with there riders. Myself and
Wayne ended up having a great chat with Colin Seeley and Phil Read to name
a few both true Gents and then all the past masters took to the track, a
joy to behold trust me a rotary Norton at Full Chat is the most awesome
sound and Trevor Nation is on hell of a rider and there were 5 of these
Nortons... just amazing..Finally Our own racer Hit the track, Jason had
litrally finished building it on Friday morning and it made its maiden run
on Sunday, not only did it look great it went Great too the only Suzuki X7
racer at mallory this weekend
