Golf IV gear stick problem
I uploaded this hoping I get some advices from people at vwvortex.com .
The problem is ...
When engine runs for 5-10KM and is warmed up, the gearstick moves harder and does not come back to the initial position (in middle).
It only happens when it is warm outside, over 22°C; It runs smooth all winter or when it rains. Seriously :|
EDIT (LATER): I know 95% what caused this .... I unmounted and cleaned and greased most of the gear linkage "hip joints" and it worked nicely for few weeks even in very hot days but after few rains it moved hard again, I am sure that grease washed away while driving in rainy days. The cover under the engine is just partial on this gas engine/model and water gets close to gearbox linkage.

How to remove (the original) and install a (new aftermarket) car stereo in a MK 2 Ford Focus
A tutorial on the process and items needed to (remove the original) and install an aftermarked radio/stereo in a Mk 2 Ford Focus, This was done on a 2006 model. Have included pics of the original factory fitted stereo to help you check if this is the same model as yours. This is not a wiring guide and assumes some knowledge on the subject. If in doubt, seek professional advice. There is no sound in this vid and I seem to be getting a few thumbs down because of it - I couldn't find a vid with all the info I needed, so I made one. It is what it is and I hope what it lacks in sound and entertainment value, it makes up for in in useful info.
Opening rear door on MKIV VW Golf : handle broken, child lock engaged
This is NOT a way to break into a VW! This video goes along with a VW Vortex thread here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4209343 . Apparently failure of the outside door handle is pretty common, the symptom being that you cannot open the door from the outside even when it is unlocked. You can usually open it from the inside... unless you have managed to engage the child safety lock... in which case you've got a door that will not open from either the inside or the outside. What to do?!? Your VW dealer may quote you some ridiculous price to get you out of this fix, or people may tell you to do something silly like cut a hole in your door panel or break off the handle. No need! Just insert a pick or some similar implement into the handle as shown in the video, probe around until you feel something that feels like it might be part of the latch, then give a little twist/pull. I was inspired to try this after finding the following post: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_fix_a_rear_passenger_door_handle_on_a_MK4_VW_Golf_with_child_lock_enabled_so_the_door_cannot_be_opened_from_the_inside_The_handle_pulls_and_clicks_but_nothing_happens .

How to DIY install or swap the RNS315 or RNS510 GPS with your RCD510 radio
See http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a5/rns510-VW-GPS-FAQ.htm and http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a6/rns315-GPS-FAQ-VW.htm for more information on the RNS510 and RNS315. If you retrofit the GPS you must also disconnect and code out the compass module or else the car will get 2 signals. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mw1T7oqiQsw for that procedure.

DIY Removal of an RCD510 from VW Golf MK5
a short video to show how easy it is to remove a RCD510 from a 2005 Volkswagen Golf MK5.
i installed a Parrot Bluetooth kit and decided to do a video, as a lot of people ask how to remove these radios.
as you can see from the video, it takes less than 5 minutes.
i have had mine out numerous times.
the first time you do yours, it might take you 30 minutes (if you go really slow, and take your time)
no matter the radio, the removal process is the same for all of the VW radios from the RCD300 right up to the RNS510.
re installation is as simple as reversing the steps in the video.
i did not video the Bluetooth install, as the kit was plug'n'play, and there are other videos on youtube that show how that's done.
there are no videos (to my knowledge) that show how to actually remove the head unit.
