Porsche 356 Speedster Cut In Half Restoration by Albert Segatore
This 1957 Porsche Speedster was cut in half over 25 years ago by a previous owner we assume for storage purposes. I restored all the metal on the car including the floors, rocker panels, tunnel, torsion tubes, door panels, trunk and engine lids. This car had virtually no rust and made a nice Speedster.

This is an original Porsche 356C SC and it is still powered by its original 1600cc, 95hpr engine. The current owner bought the car from Texas when the car had just 80k miles on it. this 356 Porsche still has its original floors and rocker panels and they are in great shape. All panels on the car are original, and the panel fit has consistently scored 13/15, 14/15, & 15/15 and 9/10 as shown by the competition scoring sheets shown at the end of the close-up photo gallery at the link above.

Still no bodyshell back from the paintshop (I'm chasing them every 2 weeks at present), so here I take stock of where I am and how much the project has cost me (and likely to cost overall). Building a 911 as a full 'make as new' restoration brings with it eye watering costs - and that's another reason why it's been fortunate I've taken 2 years so far and will probably take another year to complete.
