Die FJR1300 hat zwar schon ein paar Jahre am Buckel und Yamaha war in letzter Zeit etwas zurückhaltend was neue Modelle und Innovationen betrifft, aber das gilt beispielsweise auch für die R6 und die gewinnt immer noch internationale Rennen. Im Vergleich zu BMW RT oder Triumph Trophy wirkt die FJR vielleicht etwas spartanisch ausgestattet, das spiegelt aber nur den sportlichen Anspruch wieder und den erfüllt sie immer noch. Der Vierzylinder mit 1298 Kubik leistet bis zu 146 PS und entwickelt ein Drehmoment von 138 Nm. Das sorgt zusammen mit einem sportlich abgestimmten Fahrwerk und guten Bremsen für viel Spaß auf Reisen. Auch wenn einem dafür nur 5 Gänge zur Verfügung stehen. Ganz ohne luxuriöse Features kommt aber auch die FJR nicht aus. Eine elektrisch verstellbare Scheibe, ein neuer Tempomat und ein verstellbarer Sitz sind mit an Board.

BSA B33 500cc first start after 25 years in a shed.
Starting a 1951 BSA B33 500cc single, after it had been stored in a shed for over 25 years. Fuel tap missing, so only fuel is from a length of fuel line and a full carb bowl. Nothing was done to the engine other than cleaning the magneto points, some CRC in the cylinder a few days before and cleaning the old plug. Wiring is bare in places with covering having rotted off over the years. Despite all this, it actually started !!
