Thomson LSX-LS9
LS engine specialist Thomson Automotive combined a 427-cid LSX short block, GMPP LSX-LS9 heads and an LS9 Supercharger to generate 710 horsepower and 780 lb-ft. It's a great combination for a 1968 Camaro, a 2010 Camaro or any other hot rod or resto-mod you can think of!

1969 Camaro ~ 427ci LS3 ~ TEST DRIVE!
Why would someone take out a perfectly running 400hp engine that commutes 800 miles a week to/from work, runs 13's in the 1/4 mile and gets 18+ mpg? Ooh, Ooh, I know..............BECAUSE THEY CAN!!!! The new engine is a 427ci modified LS3 crate engine from TurnKey Engine Supply. This 550+ horsepower all aluminum powerplant will breathe through Edelbrock full length headers and x-pipe while passing power through a Tremec TKO600 5-speed transmission. The old mill coming out was a perfectly running 4-bolt 350 GM crate motor w/ Edelbrock ETEC heads & roller cam. Performance at a Gearhead Garage track day put the car consistently into the 13's. Other upgrades this round include: an aluminum dual pass radiator w/ twin SPAL electric fans, a Rick's Stainless fuel tank w/ internal Walbrough fuel pump, a hydraulic cluctch conversion kit, DSE 7-speed wiper motor & DSE600 steering box, Hydratech Braking System hydroBoost w/ Wilwood master cylinder, adjustable proportioning valve and a Hurst Roll Control Line-Lock.





Corvette racing @ 205mph or 330km/h
UPDATE: Just to prove that it's got the goods, GM has released a video of its new supercharged Corvette stretching its legs to a massive 205mph (330km/h) top speed. At a time when car makers are showing off every imaginable fuel-saving gizmo, General Motors does the math on the 6.2-litre V8 engine in its new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and comes up with more oomph than it expected. The company's powertrain gurus found that the LS9 engine cranks out 476kW (638bhp) - 20 horsepower more than the estimates they made when GM took the covers off the ZR1 before Christmas. Simply, the engine is rated at 76kW (103bhp) per litre of displacement or 1.7bhp per cubic inch (6.2 litres is equal to 376 cubic inches). All that power will push the Corvette ZR1 to a top speed of more than 322km/h, says GM. And torque? The revised official figure is now 810Nm. The key to power and torque is a Roots-type Supercharger with four-lobe rotors that sits atop the LS9 engine. A liquid-to-air Intercooler is integrated into the Supercharger's housing. The engine will be hand-built at GM's Performance Build Centre in suburban Detroit, the same plant that hand-builds the LS7 V8 used in the Corvette Z06.
