1965 Pontiac GTO Tri-Power Classic Muscle Car for Sale in MI Vanguard Motor Sales
http://www.ClassicCarBuyingSecrets.com Click now for an instant download on "How to Avoid the 7 Deadliest Mistakes of Buying a Classic Car Online"! 1965 Pontiac GTO History The Pontiac GTO is an American automobile built by Pontiac Division of General Motors from 1964 to 1974. It was a muscle car classic of the 1960s and 1970s. In early 1963, General Motors' management issued a ban on involvement in auto racing. At the time, Pontiac's advertising and marketing approach was heavily based on performance, and racing was an important component of that strategy. With GM's ban on factory-sponsored racing, Pontiac's young and visionary management turned its attention to emphasizing street performance. The GTO was basically a violation of GM policy, but since the GTO was an option package and not standard equipment, it fell into a loophole in the policy. The GTO was restyled for the 1965 model year. It had Pontiac's characteristic vertically stacked quad headlights. The restyled GTO had a new simulated hood scoop. Another cosmetic change was the black "egg-crate" grille. VIN 237375P337784 The previous owner of this black beauty owned the car since the early 1980's. She bought it out of Ohio. It has had a complete frame off restoration.
