Edelbrock RPM Olds 455 Head Porting
The scariest thing I ever did was port a set of new Edelbrock aluminum
cylinder heads. My first attempt at porting any cylinder head. I raised
the roof .200" and dropped the floor .040". It's best to leave the floor
alone or raise it by filling with epoxy. Porting kit by Mondello.

Automotive technician since 1991 I show how I do a valve grinding job
(Lapping Valves) at home using a vacuum hose, drill & compound, don't over
think it and don't assume it cant be done. learn how and save money on your
project with out taking your cylinder head to the machine shop. Valve
guides must be in good shape ( with no significant play or bent Valves
before you perform this task, but this procedure works very well if done

Chevy LT-1 Cylinder Head Full Porting Stage IV
This is the full blown Stage IV Max Street porting of the LT-1 Cross-Flow
Cylinder Head. Part One....In this we cover the begining to end of
unshrouding and polishing the combustion chambers. Thanks to Tom Kish for
the use of his heads and the extra time he allowed for me to film and
perform these mods, and his permission to display his heads and work
performed. This procedure removed 3cc of material, and blended the chambers
to discourage detonation. This is part one of three of mods to turn a
stock 170cc LT-1 heads into Edelbrock, AFR killers. The valve size remains

How To LS1 Head Porting 853 vs 243 - DIY with Great Results! LS2 Z06 LS6 LS LSx

This is a video of my progress and results of porting a set of LS1 853
heads. Flow results showed the ported 853's were greatly improved and out
flow'd the z06 243 heads.

videos of my step by step DIY LS1 Head porting where I did a pair of 862's
that went on a 5.3 in my 84 C10.
Electric Die Grinder - Makita GD0800C
Non Furious (For aluminum) Burr kit from Summit is best. 1/4" Shank about
4-6" long. You could also find cheaper on Ebay, but I dont think they are
as good in quality.
Sanding rolls and mandrels can be found on Eastwood, summit, ebay and
A couple of important things are:
1. Aluminum burr is a different burr than the steel cutting burr
2. Electric grinder works better for me. My 21 gal air compressor couldn't
keep up with an air grinder. You may even be able to just use a drill.
3. Lube can help the cutting especially on steel.
